The decision was made by the Board of Governors, who called for a quorum of the membership to discuss Brooks’s status. After tabulating the results of the ballots, Brooks will be asked to leave the organization.
This is only the second time in the ACM’s history that a member has been ousted, the first being Taylor Swift. With his membership revoked, Brooks will lose voting privileges and other benefits, such as discounts at restaurants and Honky Tonks.
