Tony Danza Proceeds with “Who’s The Boss” Reboot Sans “Troubled” Alyssa Milano

Tony Danza is moving forward with plans for a “Who’s the Boss” reboot, but this time without Alyssa Milano. Following the cancellation of the ABC reboot featuring Milano, Danza approached the programming committee with a proposal to recast the role of Sam.

The decision to move forward without Milano comes amid reports that her popularity has waned, as reflected in Nielsen ratings. Danza, along with ABC’s programming director Joe Barron, is considering several actresses for the role, including Neve Campbell, Rose McGowan, and Alona Tal, among others. Danza believes that there are plenty of talented actresses in Hollywood who would be eager to work alongside him in the reboot.

Originally, the reboot was set to follow a similar storyline to the original series, with Tony and Sam living in Angela’s house. However, with Milano no longer in the picture, Danza is advocating for a new direction. The updated plot would involve a single mom who is Angela’s stepdaughter from her second marriage, while Sam is away at college.

Danza sees the stepdaughter theme as appealing to audiences in conservative states and believes that this new direction will allow him to be more involved in the casting process. He has already planned to purchase a new pleather couch for the show.
